Welcome to Whitehouse from our Year 6 Ambassadors
Welcome to Whitehouse from our Year 6 Ambassadors: Hattie, Lola, Rhys and Junior

Hello and welcome to our Whitehouse website. We have answered some questions that we think you might be curious to know.
How do you feel about Whitehouse?
We are proud to be part of the Whitehouse family. Whitehouse is an excellent, kind and welcoming school where everyone is accepted. It’s an adventurous and enjoyable place to learn, and where our thoughts and feelings are truly valued.
What are lessons like?
At Whitehouse, Lessons are packed with exciting learning opportunities whether you are in Year 6 or Nursery! Teachers help us to challenge ourselves so we can be the best that we can be. Lessons are fun, interactive, and often include lively class conversations and discussions that make learning enjoyable and meaningful. If you are stuck you can ask for help.
What activities are on offer? What do you enjoy doing?
There are a wide variety of activities on offer at Whitehouse including forest school which gives us the chance to develop our resilience and explore our local community further. Our Christmas and summer fairs are brilliant and the residential visits to Carlton and London are where memories are made which will never be forgotten.
We also have clubs and activities during and after school, like forest school and football – which is one of my favourites. We even get to take on special jobs like being part of the school council, Junior Joes, or sports leaders. I really enjoy forest school and playing on the MUGA with my friends.
We have jobs in school too: school, safeguarding, wellbeing and right’s respecting councils, Y5/6 lunch monitoring jobs, Junior Joes, play leaders and sports’ leaders and of course being Y6 Ambassadors!
What can you do at playtimes?
We have different zones for different activities. Junior Joe’s help keep playtimes fun. They make sure nobody is left out and offer new games to play. The MUGA is where football and cricket games take place but you can always relax and chat to your friends on the benches or in the Zen zone – if you want to give your legs a rest!
Junior Joes set up fun activities and there’s always something to do—whether it’s basketball or just playing with your friends.
What kind of assemblies are there? What do you learn in assemblies?
In our assemblies, we learn about what’s happening in the world through Picture News, celebrate achievements, sing songs and explore important topics like respect, diversity and religious holidays. There are different types of assemblies too like celebration, headteacher, growth mindset, class and rights respecting, so we’re always learning something new and interesting.
What are you proud of at Whitehouse?
We are proud that Whitehouse is a right’s respecting school and that we are welcoming and friendly to everybody. We raise money for charities like Macmillan and Children in Need. There’s always something fun to do and we never get bored! If we ever feel worried, there are people we can talk to. Sometimes, we even get the freedom to do exciting things of our own!
What makes Whitehouse special?
All of the children and staff make Whitehouse a special place to be. Everybody has at least one member of staff who they can talk to and lots of staff are amazing and so is the teaching! We stand out because we are a family.
Why would you recommend coming to Whitehouse?
We would recommend Whitehouse to all children and families who want to be part of a school that has exciting lessons, kind teachers and welcoming pupils and staff. You get to learn a lot of new things, you go to lots of new places and sometimes we have special guests to do assemblies or in class. It’s a really fun place to learn and we feel really happy here every day!
