Can I bring younger brothers or sisters?

Yes, younger siblings are very welcome as long as they’re comfortable in a play setting with other children. Get in touch if you’re unsure.

Is this only for families who have children at Whitehouse Primary or who have already applied for reception?

No – this event is open to any local family with children aged 2 – 4. Whether you’re just starting to look at schools or you’re still deciding, you’re very welcome.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Turn into Dunelm Road off Elm Tree Road. You will see the school on your right-hand side. Enter via the main gate on Dunelm Road. Turn right at the entrance gate and walk through another gate signposted EYFS. A member of staff will be there to welcome you.

Is there parking?

Parking is available on Dunelm Road or in the staff car park.

What should my child wear?

Please dress them in comfortable clothes that can get mud, paint and water on them. We’ll have aprons available.

Do I need to stay with my child?

Yes, parents/carers stay for the whole session. This is stay-and-play, not a drop-off.

Will there be snacks?

We’ll have a drink and snack for the children and a tea/coffee for the grown-ups. Please let us know about any allergies when you book.

What happens next?

Nothing. Come along, enjoy the event and we’ll follow up afterwards with information about our Nursery and Reception if you’d like it.

“This school is so warm, friendly and welcoming in its approach. All my children have been very happy and they love their sessions with forest schools.” Year 4 Parent

“From the initial phone calls and emails to full time attending the school has been so warm, friendly and welcoming in its approach. The communication from the EYFS team really is above and beyond. We love having such regular updates about my child’s learning- it makes us feel such a part of his school journey and we love chatting with him about what he’s been up to in nursery and sharing the photos on seesaw with him (which he is SO proud of). We honestly couldn’t be happier with the decision we’ve made to put him in Whitehouse Primary.” Nursery Parent

“I believe the school has gone above and beyond to help my child settle into reception, as I know not all schools make the effort.” Reception Parent

“The teaching staff at Whitehouse are phenomenal. With all three of my children the teachers have helped them reach goals. My youngest has settled into reception with such ease thanks to the teachers.” Year 3, 1 and Reception Parent

“The teaching staff are fantastic and hard working. This makes the school a great place to learn. I believe the staff at whitehouse are the key to its success.” Year 1 Parent

“The teachers are great and support the children well. The quality of teaching and support my child has received has been excellent. There are some really truly excellent teachers who inspire the children. They are a credit to the school and should be highly praised for the work they put in.” Year 3 Parent

“My children transferred mid-year and not only made some lovely, kind new friends, but have thrived academically and grown hugely in confidence and happiness. The teachers have been so supportive and we are so pleased we made the move.” Year 5 and 3 Parent
